• We would like chatroom participants to feel free to express their opinions and offer their points of view on a wide range of topics. However, we ask participants to do so in a manner that is respectful of others and others’ points of view. In this vein, please refrain from the following:

  • Posts which might be considered harassing, derogatory, or discriminatory
  • Use of profanity or offensive language
  • Posts containing (or requesting) large amounts of personal information, commercial advertising, etc.
  In chatroom sessions (as in most of life), applying the Golden Rule will go a long way!

• Please allow participants to complete their thoughts/questions (and giving the hosts a chance to respond) before “cutting across” with a comment/question of your own.

• When you are directing your question to someone in particular, or referencing a comment/question that has been made by another participant, please refer to that individual by his/her screen name. This will avoid a lot of confusion, and keep the conversation from going in too many directions at once.

• When you have finished with a thoughts or question, please type in "end." This will let us know when you are done with your thought or question, and avoid either long pauses or instances where others cut in during the middle of your thought.

NACSW's chatroom sessions are open to NACSW members and non-members alike. Persons interested in participating in scheduled chatroom discussions can log on to NACSW’s chatroom at the designated time by going to: http://www.nacsw.org/chat_board.html. You will be asked to provide a user name. We recommend that you choose a unique user name (some more common names are already password protected and might not be available for your use). There is no need to select a password or provide any other information. Once you’ve entered your user name and it’s been accepted, simply select, “Ok, Connect!” and you’re in!
