NACSW’s chatroom sessions seek to provide an interactive way to enhance the educational and educational value of Social Work and Christianity, as well as explore explore other topics of particular interest to Christians in social work.
For scheduled chatroom sessions, the format of the chatroom sessions is fairly simple. The guest host(s) will typically begin the discussion by presenting an initial statement or summary of the topic, and perhaps some initial questions. The majority of the time, however, will be open for "free" discussion and exchange.
We strongly encourage participants to prepare for the session by reading the session's featured article or book and forming questions to bring to the discussion. Most chatroom sessions will be hosted by individuals who hold advanced degrees in social work - many of whom teach at the college/university level - so we see rich potential for in-depth, invigorating discussion! Coming to the session prepared will help each participant get the most out of his/her time, and greatly enhance the level of the discussion overall.
NACSW's
chatroom sessions are open to NACSW members and non-members alike.
Please feel free to pass along any suggestions you have for future chatroom session topics to info@nacsw.org.
