NACSW Mentor Program

The goal of NACSW's mentoring program is to help connect any interested NACSW member (new or not!) with a long standing, experienced member who can serve as his/her mentor in some of the following ways:

  • Providing a basic orientation to NACSW and its supports/services

  • Sharing some of his/her experiences, challenges, successes, and learnings related to the integration of faith and social work practice

  • Sharing information about useful resources

  • Committing to provide regular prayer support and exchange prayer requests

  • Making at least monthly direct contact (either by email, phone, or in person)

If you are a current member of NACSW and are interested in participating in our mentoring program as either a mentor or a mentee, please contact the NACSW office at: info@nacsw.org.

As requests to participate come in, based on availability (there is sometimes a waiting period), we match interested mentors and mentees using the following criteria:

  • gender

  • country

  • general geographical proximity

  • indicated special interests

As soon as a match is made, we contact both parties and provide basic information about the mentor program, some suggestions for first steps in developing the mentor relationship, and relevant mentor/mentee contact information. We ask the mentors to contact the mentees within 2 weeks of receiving this information, and then on at least a monthly basis thereafter.

If you are an NACSW member and are interested in being either a mentor to someone, or a mentee, please contact the NACSW office at info@nacsw.org.
