NACSW Mentor Program

The goal of NACSW's mentoring program is to help connect any interested NACSW member (new or not!) with a long standing, experienced member who can serve as his/her mentor in some of the following ways:

Providing a basic orientation to NACSW and its supports/services

Sharing some of his/her experiences, challenges, successes, and learnings related to the integration of faith and social work practice

Sharing information about useful resources

Committing to provide regular prayer support and exchange prayer requests

Making at least monthly direct contact (either by email, phone, or in person)

If you are a current member of NACSW and are interested in participating in our mentoring program as either a mentor or a mentee, please contact the NACSW office at: info@nacsw.org.

As requests to participate come in, based on availability (there is sometimes a waiting period), we match interested mentors and mentees using the following criteria:

gender

country

general geographical proximity

indicated special interests

As soon as a match is made, we contact both parties and provide basic information about the mentor program, some suggestions for first steps in developing the mentor relationship, and relevant mentor/mentee contact information. We ask the mentors to contact the mentees within 2 weeks of receiving this information, and then on at least a monthly basis thereafter.
