In many states and provinces, earning continuing education contact hours are becoming more and more important as a condition for maintaining one's social work license, certification, or accreditation.
Through an agreement with JournaLearning International (http://www.journalearning.com), NACSW is able to offer members and friends of NACSW the opportunity to earn two continuing education contact hours for reading and answering questions related to the articles in our journal, Social Work and Christianity. This NACSW service, which we call NACSW's Home Study Program, was launched with our Fall, 1999 issue of SWC.
Participants in NACSW's home study program are asked to answer a series of multiple choice questions based on the articles in a given issue of Social Work and Christianity. You will find this quiz as well as additional details regarding participation on the last couple of pages of each issue of Social Work and Christianity starting with the Fall, 1999 issue. JournaLearning charges each participant $25 for processing submitted quizzes and producing a CEU certificate.
NACSW and JournaLearning International designed this home study program to meet the requirements for Continuing Education Credit for the Social Work Boards of the states of California and Florida, as well as the APA and the Association of Social Work Boards (http://www.nacsw.org/ASWB.html). Most states and provinces will accept home study programs approved by the the ASWB, the APA, and the California and Florida Boards. Please check the local rules in your home state or province.
NACSW hopes that you find this service a valuable addition to NACSW's growing array of benefits for Christians in social work!
