CONVENTION 2004 PANEL PRESENTATION FEATURING NASW’S EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR BETSY CLARK AND CSWE BOARD PRESIDENT KAY HOFFMAN

NACSW is delighted to announce that NASW executive director, Elizabeth Clark, and CSWE Board president, Kay Hoffman, have agreed to participate in a panel discussion NACSW has recently added to its Convention 2004 program. This panel discussion will be entitled, “Spirituality, Faith, and the Social Work Profession,” and will be held on Friday night at the Sheraton Hotel in Reston, VA October 29, 2004 at 7:30 pm.

This session will focus on how CSWE, NASW and NACSW (and potentially other professional social work associations) can collaborate concerning issues of mutual concern such as:

·        the place of spirituality and religion in social work practice and education

·        promotion of research concerning spirituality and religion in social work practice and education

·        distinctions between appropriate professional roles for social workers, chaplains, and spiritual counselors

·        opportunities and challenges of field placements and practice in faith-based social agencies and congregations

We invite you to join us for what we anticipate will be an interesting and productive session during our upcoming convention in Reston, VA (just outside the Washington, DC area)!
