It is such an
honor for us to be able to host this group of esteemed colleagues in our
hometown. Maryland is sometimes called "little America" because its
geography includes everything from mountains to beaches, but perhaps it
should also be called "little America" because of the high numbers of
immigrants that make this small state their home, giving us a deeply
diverse local culture. As we gather together to look at best practices
in serving immigrants and consider the unique challenges they face, I
can think of no better place for us to gather. I hope you can enjoy the
sights, geography, food, sports, and great people of Maryland during
your stay for the 2014 NACSW Convention.
