Continuing Education Contact Hours (CEs)
NACSW, provider #1078, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB), through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program, as well as by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work. NACSW maintains responsibility for the program. The final authority for approving any continuing education activity rests with the state or province in which the participant is licensed. Training participants are still responsible to check with their local authorities to verify that convention offerings meet their jurisdictional standards for continuing education credit and/or licensure renewal. Even states accepting ACE approval may have exceptions for courses they will approve.
NACSW is able to offer CEs for all workshop sessions, plenary sessions, and preconvention institutes. NACSW is not able to offer CEUs for the following three convention events: poster presentations, the Community Conversation Meeting, and Sunday worship. If you were to attend two preconvention institutes, all plenary sessions, and one workshop during each workshop time slot, you would earn 19.75 continuing education contact hours.
Requirements to Receive CEU Credits:
Attendees that request CEs will receive a CE booklet that lists each workshop, preconvention institute, and plenary session eligible for CEs for the entire convention.
In order to receive credit for attending a CE-eligible session, attendees must:
- attend the entire session,
- complete an evaluation form for that session,
- turn in the completed evaluation form to the session moderator.
Attendance at CE-eligible sessions is tracked through the NACSW CE booklet. At the conclusion of the convention, please deposit the completed CE booklet at the registration table. If you are not able to deposit the CE booklet at the registration desk, please mail the completed booklet to NACSW, PO Box 121 Botsford, CT 06404. CE certificates will be mailed within 30 days of the Convention to those who have completed and returned their booklets.
Additional Session Information:
To access additional information about all convention sessions (learning objectives, session outlines, primary audience and level of presentation, etc.), refer to the current convention abstracts.
