Integrating Spirituality and Social Work Practice

 

 

Learning Outcomes

 

1.  To understand the basic concepts of spirituality, faith, and religion, and how they differ from one another and relate to professional social work practice.

 

2.  To articulate one’s own spirituality and religious experience and how these aspects of the self can be used in professional practice both effectively and ethically in helping achieve the goals of social work clients.  

 

3.  To learn practice guidelines for addressing issues of spirituality, faith, and religion.

 

4.  To explore ways in which spirituality, faith, and religion influence the mezzo and macro levels of social work practice, as well as practice with individuals and families.
