Organizational Member Invitation

Dear Colleague, 

  • How do the staff in your organization or program integrate their faith with their work each day as they strive to fulfill your organization's mission? 

  • Do you wish there was a more effective way to network and share information with other Christian social service agencies, social work education programs, and church social ministries committed to serving others in need? 
  • How can your Christian service organization become more visible within both the Christian community and the Christian social work profession? 
  • Do you believe a Christian perspective is having a vital impact in the profession of social work today? 

If you believe these questions are truly important, there is a place for you.  I invite your organization to become a member of the North American Association of Christians in Social Work (NACSW) - "A Vital Christian Presence in Social Work." 

Since 1954, NACSW has supported the efforts of individual Christian members to integrate their faith and social work practice. However, for the past several years, NACSW has been approached by a number of Christian programs and agencies requesting organizational memberships. These organizations are interested in having their entire agency, program, or ministry supported and promoted by the work and services of NACSW. We believe it is time to begin reaching out to Christian social service organizations, social work programs, and church social ministries dedicated to serving others in need in the name of Jesus.

 

We see this extension as a natural fit with NACSW's mission, which is to support the integration of Christian faith and professional social work practice in the lives of its members, the profession and the church, promoting love and justice in social service and social reform.

 

NACSW seeks to fulfill this vital mission by offering the following services and benefits to our organizational members:
  • An unlimited number of free Internet job postings on NACSW’s Christian JobNet service for social work and related positions
  • A free organizational subscription to NACSW's bimonthly newsletter, Catalyst, as well as a free subscription to NACSW's refereed journal, Social Work and Christianity - with regular CEU credits offered to all staff through our journal home study program 
  • A complete complementary set of books currently published by NACSW, and a 20% discount on additional copies as well as new books and other publications, 
  • A free quarter-page ad each calendar year in either NACSW's newsletter or journal, as well as a free listing in the NACSW convention program each year
  • Participation in local chapters and fellowship groups, as well as member interest groups for members with shared interests, experiences, and training/skills
  • Professional liability insurance coverage for up to 4 staff members (only available for US organizations)
  • A free organizational listing (to include logo, organizational mission, link to website if applicable, etc.) on NACSW's organizational member website page
  • Access to NACSW's on-line membership directory, which also provides contact information for a growing list (with over 6,000 entries) of Christian social service organizations and church social ministries
  • Access to NACSW's website on-line bibliography, as well as a members-only section for up to four staff, with on-line copies of NACSW's newsletter, journal, and other valuable membership materials
  • All organizational staff will have access to any of NACSW’s growing number of Internet listservs  

  • 20-25% discounts off registration rates for up to four staff members for NACSW's training workshops and conferences - our next annual convention will be coming up on October  

  • Quarterly audio conference workshops at special organizational member rates, as well as a home study program offering CEU credits associated with NACSW's Social Work and Christianity 
  • Because NACSW has been approved as a continuing education provider by the Association of Social Work Boards, members are able to earn continuing education contact hours via NACSW's conventions, conferences, home study program, audio conference workshops, etc.
  • A mentor program connecting students and new members with other NACSW members
  • Reduced subscriptions to ESA's premier magazine, Prism, and three Haworth Press journal
  • Links to other outstanding Christian social service organizations, programs, and ministries, and partnership with other leading Christian organizations through Word and Deed Network
  • 40% discount for individual NACSW memberships for up to 3 additional staff,
NACSW's organizational membership dues for 2008 are as follows:
    $460 (Canadian or US) for organizations with budgets over $500,000
    $372 (Canadian or US) for organizations with budgets between $250,000 - $499,999
    $285 (Canadian or US) for organizations with budgets between $100,000 - $249,999

    $230 (Canadian or US) for organizations with budgets under $100,000

I invite you to become an organizational member of NACSW today to work shoulder to shoulder with other Christian organizations, social work programs, and church social ministries to more richly integrate the Christian faith with your efforts to reach out to those in need in the name of Jesus.
